About
Your Class:

A public class at our Canton location
Not all pet first aid classes are
created equal. We know. We've done the research. We have taken several different pet first
aid courses. We are confident when we say our course is the most
comprehensive, in-depth pet first aid course you will find. Here are some of the differences between our classes
and "classes" offered by others:
-
A
class is only as good as it's instructor. Your instructor worked
as a veterinary technician for over 4 years. She knows what she
is teaching because she has done it. See below for more background information.
-
A
class is also only as good as the course work. Ours is based on
the
Handbook of Veterinary Procedures and Emergency Treatment.
This is the bible of emergency vet care. All
veterinarians use this book. The difference is that our course
work only covers the 99% of emergencies dogs and cats
experience, not everything else. See below
for examples.
-
Pet Tech is the first national training center dedicated to
First Aid, CPR & Care for dogs and cats. We do not teach human
first aid, infant CPR, or offer baby sitting classes. All of our
time, effort, and resources go into
"Improving the quality of pets' lives one pet owner at a time".
-
We
don't just sit you down and make you watch a video. We teach you
directly, hands on.
-
We
don't tell you to bring your own stuffed animal to practice on.
We provide everyone with a "rescue" dog and you don't have to
share one with the entire class. (We also have "rescue"
kitties and puppies)
-
We are
not trying to sell you something else. We don't offer you a 2
hour class and then spend 90 minutes of it trying to sell you on
our veterinary practice or other pet care products.
-
You get a actual certificate of
training so you can show others your dedication and training,
great for pet professionals. Others only give you a wallet card if anything. (We
give you a wallet card too.)
-
We guarantee your satisfaction. We
are so confident that our class is the best that if you don't
feel that our class was worth your while, we'll refund your
money. Just tell us before you leave. No one else offers that.

Classes
are taught together by certified PetTech instructors Roberta
and John Chapman. Besides owning and running First
Aid 4 Paws, they are the owners of
Comfy Creatures Dog Walking and Pet Sitting
and they also manage
The Michigan Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers Association.
Before beginning to teach classes both completed a three day
pet first aid instructors seminar which reinforced their
prior 13 years experience in the pet industry. |
Roberta will be your main
instructor. Before
starting the pet sitting business full time in August of
1998, Roberta worked as a
veterinary technician for four years. She has worked in both
a 24 hour emergency clinic and small animal practice. She attended
Wayne State Universities vet tech training program and also
has a Bachelors Degree from Eastern Michigan University.
John is the
creator of this website as well as the website for Comfy
Creatures, and Michigan Pet Sitters Association. He is
a volunteer for the Michigan Humane Society. He
handles advertising, backend operations, class registration
and assists Roberta in teaching classes.
